Tunnels are an important component of the transportation and utility system cities. They being constructed at increasing rate to facilitate need for space expansion in densely populated urban areas mega-cities. The circular rectangular tunnels cannot completely meet requirements underground exploitation regarding cross-section. Sub-rectangular recently used overcome some drawbacks terms low utilization ratio stress concentration, respectively. However, behavior sub-rectangular under seismic loading is still limited.
